Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and welcome to my blog! I decided I really wanted a blog of my own after getting embarrassingly addicted to so many others that I read on a daily basis.
I think blogging is a great form of encouragement and have been wanting to give it a go for quite a while now. So here it is! I’ll try to take pictures of my meals every day, and I’m attempting to be a better cook. Prepare to see some disasters along the way :). Take a look around my blog to get to know me a little better!
So, in the grand tradition of food blogging, here’s what I had for breakfast:
A bowl of oatmeal, which I am addicted to. Sounds weird, right? But it can be so good if you use yummy toppings. This is made with 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup water, and 1/3 cup skim milk. I cut up half a banana and cooked it into the oats, along with a little vanilla.
Here’s a secret about me: I am not one of those bouncy, cheerful people who jump out of bed in the morning and enjoy banging around in the dark at 5:00 a.m. I wish I was; however, I’m not.
So the point of that tidbit of info is, I just microwave my oatmeal and it comes out perfect! I cook on high for two minutes, then take it out and top with the other half of said banana and a spoonful of granola (the BearNaked kind is my favorite, largely due to the fun name. Hehe.) Then I add the best part: a spoonful of almond butter.
Served in my favorite snowman bowl, b/c I love all things Christmasy. I also had this as part of breakfast:
Gas station coffee posed next to my sad excuse for a Christmas tree (it has no lights and two ornaments. I have a special place in my heart for the Charlie Brown Christmas trees of the world.) Gas station coffee makes me really happy … I’m not sure why.
Be back soon. Thanks for reading my very first blog post! 🙂
