Hello! I’m currently blogging in the midst of a major caffeine rush, so bear with me. I just got a coffee at Starbucks, but they put in too much milk so it wasn’t very hot. So to avoid drinking it cold (ew), I gulped the whole thing down in about 3 minutes. Consequently, my brain feels like it’s trying to climb out of my skull. (Sorry.) Stupid coffee:
It did NOT make my spirits bright. But this did:
I did go shopping yesterday! Old Navy was having an “active wear sale” and even though that probably translates to “mark the prices up 50% then mark them back down by 25%,” the signs sucked me in. I got two tank tops, a pair of shorts and a water bottle (I think mine is floating around in Kentucky somewhere) for under $25. Not bad. Especially this part:
My sister and I met a friend there, and we started, of course, with a big ol’ basket of chips:
And then I ate pretty much all of that, including the basket. Haha, just kidding. But I always eat more chips than dinner when I go out for Mexican food, because I don’t even really like Mexican food, unlike every other person in this world.
For my meal, which I was no longer hungry for, I ordered a pesto cilantro burrito, which contained no trace of either pesto or cilantro. But that’s ok, because by that time Dave had arrived, and like all boys, he will eat almost anything. (He came late to avoid the inevitable girl talk/squealing that comes when three girls haven’t seen each other in a while.)
The pesto/cilantro-free burrito:
I also had a beer, even though I wanted a margarita. Somehow, I can never quite justify margarita calories unless I’m on a beach. And then, when I am on a beach, I drink like 4,000 of them. It works out.
Last night was a nice, lazy night of watching movies on TV, drinking some white zin, and falling alseep on the couch. I intended to make it to the gym today, but it didn’t happen. Instead, I just ate more:
That’s grilled tilapia, broccoli, and a baked potato with cheese, butter, and sour cream (I asked for the butter and sour cream on the side and only used a bit). It was yummy! This was at Red Lobster, where we usually end up when I meet my parents for lunch–it’s their favorite. Flaky fish:
Then came the worst decision of my day–the coffee–and now I’m getting ready to head out to dinner again with some friends. And then we’re going to a bar where you can play shuffleboard! (Not the old-people version they play on cruise ships that involves pushing around a puck with a stick—it’s on a table. I’ll show you tomorrow.)
I get reeeally excited about shuffleboard.
So talking about margaritas reminded me: I’m going to Florida in March to visit my fam out there for a week—SO excited! I’m booking my ticket tomorrow. Target, I’m coming for you and your swimsuits!
Which leads me to the question of the day: By late Jan/early Feb, I’m always sick of being pale and am dying to go tanning. But I know, I know, it’s awful for you. So the question—what’s your fave self tanner? I want to find one that doesn’t streak, doesn’t fade, and DOESN’T SMELL BAD—that’s the main one. Thoughts?
Have a great rest of your Saturday! 🙂
